2007 Community Meetings:

On behalf of the San José Grand Prix and the City of San José, we invite you to an upcoming community meeting regarding the third annual San José Grand Prix. Key representatives of the San José Grand Prix and the City of San José will be on hand to answer your questions.

This community meeting will be held:

Thursday, June 14 at 5:30pm
San José City Hall Wing Room 120
200 East Santa Clara Street, San José

For additional Grand Prix information go to ww.sjgp.com or call (408) 277-9480. Questions for the City of San José may be directed to the Events Customer Service line at (408) 277-5144 x21.

The San José Grand Prix staff, management and ownership know how important it is to give of themselves - their time, energy, concern and creativity -- as well as of their financial resources. The magic of racing, coupled with a commitment to get personally involved, contributes to the community in a multitude of ways

Since it's inception in 2005, the San José Grand Prix always make giving back to the community a priority and this past holiday season was no exception.

Partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of San José, several staff members braved a chilly December evening to pass out Christmas gift bags to approximately 100 children at their annual Christmas Party. In addition, the kids in attendance had the opportunity to get their picture taken while sitting inside the Grand Prix show car.

In addition to the Boys and Girls club event, the Grand Prix also works in the community by:

  • Donating group tickets to various charitable entities including the Boys and Girls clubs
  • Donating tickets to schools and charities for raffle prizes and auction items
  • Taking groups like a Children’s Discovery Museum summer class "behind the scenes" during the 2006 Grand Prix, showing interested students how a Champ Car is put together and prepared for a race
  • Attending monthly meetings with both neighborhood associations and local businesses

The success of the first two San José Grand Prix races would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the San Jose REV's, the San José Grand volunteer organization, many of which are local residents.
